A bit of a preface..
Really I had the intention to write a blog while walking from Lausanne to Le Puy-en-Velay via Geneva in April - May 2017. Unfortunately that never came to be, for various reasons.
However I kept a diary. Based on the diary I have reconstructed a blog with a hope that it should be possible to continue the blog in more real time when I - hopefully - continues from Le Puy across France in September-October 2017.
For the Swiss part of Chemin Compostelle (Jakobsweg) from Lausanne to Geneve my route can be found via this link: https://www.jakobsweg.ch/de/eu/ch/weg/romont-geneve/

So lets go back to April 10th...
Lausanne finally. Walked through the station building that had not changed very much since I was here in 2010 to start may long walk towards Rome. Repacked for walk standing in a corner, actually the same corner as in 2010. Ate at the same McDonald. Experienced problems to speak French. For some reason Spanish word pops out of the mouth all the time instead of the French.
Walked down to the lakefront of Lake Geneva. There at the same spot as in 2010 I turned right instead of left. After a few km along the lake I saw the signs of "Chemin de St-Jacques" or "Chemin de Compostelle" (#4) with the famous shell symbol. I had reached the cross between that road and "Via Francigena" (#70) the road from Canterbury to Rome. The symbol for that road is a pilgrim. It was "Via Francigena" that I did walk in 2010.
Continued along the lake, a very beautiful walk. A clear day without wind. Arrived at the city of Morges a bit west of Lausanne. Had thoughts about continuing but realized that I was too tired. Heat of the day? Looked around in the center of the city but did not find anything looking cheep so it had to be a hotel called Savoie. Still the same problems to speak French.
Early in bed after a long day ... on the way finally.
