The day passed with gradually more asphalt. Up trough the parts of the city where diplomats live and a bit later passing a building belonging to the UN, before walking downhill towards the beach. Had off and on seen the the high fountain but well down into the park "La Perle du Lac" it became really impressive. St down at the beach front and spoke with Anna my daughter before walking towards the center. Saw a sign with youth hostel and remembered that I had seen that place in one of my guides. With some help from my mobile I found the address and the place.
Yes, they had a bed for the night. Ended up close to a guy from Ecuador who was planning to go up to Chamonix but wanted to see Geneva first. We spoke mostly Spanish.
I found my way up to the cathedral. It was 6 o'clock. Closed! Hence no stamp in my pilgrims passport! And yes, it was a reformed cathedral. Had something to eat at a McDonalds. That's what you can afford in this country.
Back at the youth hostel I prepared for France for which I had both guide books, maps and GPS. No more blind navigation. Looked at the GPS tracks. They were actually from 2008 a bit old. But my french guidebook was up to date. Tomorrow France.
